The old saying is that ‘let your food be your medicine, and your medicine be your food’. I think that was said by Herodotus, the ancient Greek philosopher.  With that being said, there are some foods that have been identified as being very good for cancer patients.

In general, it is very good to focus on eating more vegetables, and to lessen the intake of meats, especially red meat and greasy meats.  Also, the avoidance of heavily-processed foods is advised.  These foods tend to have a lot of synthetic chemicals that tend to worsen the patient’s condition.

One of the biggest things to watch is the intake of sugarcontinue reading…

Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer with over 2 million people a year being diagnosed.  More people come down with skin cancer than those diagnosed with breast, prostate, lung and colon cancer combined.  Around 90% of non-melanoma skin cancers are related to UV radiation from the sun.  Squamous cell carcinoma and basal cell carcinoma are the two main forms of non-melanoma skin cancer.  40 to 50% of people in America who live to age 65 will be diagnosed with skin cancer at least once in their lives.

In 2004, over $1 billion was expended on non-melanoma skin cancer treatment. continue reading…

A major blind spot with regards to our existence is the realization of the existence of our belief systems, their structures, implied foundations, and their impact upon our lives.  The majority of people tend to dither around life, mostly unconscious of the irrationality and bad results in our society that results from blind faith in things that really don’t deserve our commitment.  Our belief systems are the conceptual structures that define our relationship with reality, and when they are based on erroneous assumptions and logic, they lead to results that are less than optimal (at best), and results that destroy people’s initiative, health, freedom, and their very lives (at worst).

For a more rigorous consideration of the relationship between paradigms and their impact upon our lives, I would suggest that you read a book that is one of the best on the subject, entitled The Paradigm Conspiracy: Why Our Social Systems Violate Human Potential–and How We Can Change Them. continue reading…

I just wanted to share some quotes from some notable people on their opinions on cancer.  I thought you would find these interesting:

  • “He said, “I’m giving cancer patients over here at this major cancer clinic drugs that are killing them, and I can’t stop it because they say the protocol’s what’s important.” And I say, “But the patient’s not doing well.” They say, “The protocol’s what’s important, not the patient.” And he said, “You can’t believe what goes on in the name of medicine and science in this country.” –Gary Null continue reading…

In lung cancer, when it is determined that the tumor(s) cannot be removed by surgery, radiation therapy is often employed. Although doctors have the technology to more precisely control the radiation beam, it is still a very powerful and has the ability to damage the body. Radiation is not good for the body, and is known to be very damaging. Here is what a physician had to say about radiation’s side effects on lung cancer.

The doctor basically said that virtually all patients that can’t be treated with surgery will eventually receive radiation therapy. continue reading…

I thought that this was a very interesting testimonial from a person diagnosed with ovarian cancer.  This interview is very insightful.

This is very interesting information.  Some of the key points are that:

  • The emphasis should be on PREVENTION!  It’s much easier to prevent the disease from hurting you than it is after you have it
  • Big Pharma and the Medical Industry is not what you think it is, and they have a totally different agenda from the one they publicize
  • Learn how to STOP PRODUCING CANCER!!!
  • Know that SUGAR FEEDS CANCER, so you need to cut the sugar out of your diet as much as possible. THIS IS CRITICAL!!!
  • Non-toxic treatments do exist and they can be effective. Even if they aren’t, they do not exacerbate the problem (i.e., make you sicker)

Also, for more information on the medical paradigm, you can check this site for other articles, and you can also check out the Recommended Products section for more books and materials that will give you the information that you need to make informed, educated decisions about your health.

Ovarian cancer is thought to be a ‘silent killer’ because the symptoms are vague and nonspecific.  Check this out for more information on how to detect it:

It is very advisable that women be very perceptive because ovarian cancer is difficult to detect. There is no reliable diagnostic procedure that medical physicians have that can reliably diagnose it. For this reason, the prognosis for women found to have cancer is variable. The prognosis is good for those who identify the cancer early, and it is poor for those who are found to be in the later stages (i.e., Stage 3 or 4). Unfortunately, the only way to be sure of a cancer diagnosis is to perform a biopsy. The problem with biopsy is that the procedure breaches the body’s encapsulation of the cells of the mass. This means that if the growth turns out to be malignant, something must be done immediately because the cells will spread throughout the entire body (as they will be carried around the body by the bloodstream) and will be able to form metastases.

I wanted to know the survival rates for lung cancer.  This information is based on traditional doctors and conventional medical treatments for lung cancer.  The problem that the physicians have with lung cancer is that the diagnosis is usually made when the patient is in the late stages (usually Stage 4).  We can see exactly what a traditional physician has to say about cancer survival rates.

The physician is basically saying that only 25% of people diagnosed with lung cancer can be treated with surgery. continue reading…

There is always a plethora of cancer stories in the press that speak of hope and promise for the ever-ending cascade of new drugs and various treatments.  In fact, I’ve noticed that there has been a promising new drug, therapy, or treatment that will change things that is ‘just around the corner’ for as long as I can remember, which is over 30 years ago.  What gives?

For example, I found an article about an experimental drug called PLX4032, which is said to reverse the effects of a gene mutation that is found in certain tumors.  They say that it is a prototypical example of the new approach to cancer treatment.  This is a strategy in which the cancer is targeted based on genotypes, and other various biomarkers of the cancer cell.

In some patients, the drug was said to have produced great results.  But when this drug was given to patients with colorectal tumors with the same gene mutation, it failed miserably.  This was a ‘flashing red light’ to me that strongly implies that the present paradigm is not correct, and is not working. continue reading…

I came across a report that claims that the anticancer drug, Avastin, can help ovarian cancer patients.  The drug, which is commonly used to treat colon, breast and brain cancers, now may have an application in ovarian cancer.

Researchers added Avastin to a standard chemotherapy and maintenance regimen to a group of women with cancer of the ovaries or closely related areas. They found that the women who were given Avastin lived an average of four months longer without the disease progressing than those who did not receive it.

Avastin is not without a level of controversy in its history.  Some experts objected to FDA approval of it for metastatic breast cancer because the drug only slows tumor growth, but fails to extend survival.  The FDA approved it for use anyway, even though a panel of outside advisers voted 5 to 4 against approval.  Although Avastin reduces tumor size and shows an increase in progression-free survival time, it does not prolong or increase the quality of life for late-stage cancer patients. continue reading…
