The pancreas is a spongy, tube-shaped organ approximately 6 inches long that is located in the back of the abdomen behind the stomach. It is the organ responsible for producing the digestive enzymes, and also produces the hormones responsible for glucose metabolism (insulin & glucagon), and also growth hormone.
Pancreatic cancer is sometimes called a ‘silent disease’ because there are few, if any, symptoms in the early stages. In cases where a pancreatic tumor blocks the common bile duct, the skin and whites of the eyes may become yellow, and the urine will become darker. This is a condition known as jaundice.
If the cancer spreads, pain may be experienced in the upper abdomen and sometimes the back. The pain often becomes worse after a meal or when the person lies down. Other symptoms may include weakness, nausea, weight loss, loss of appetite, dizzy spells, chills, muscle spasms, or diarrhea.
Although conventional medicine has no real answers for pancreatic cancer, you can learn more about it and find ways to minimize your chances of succumbing to this, as well as all forms of cancer. The medical establishment will not acknowledge any effective treatments for cancer not under their direct control. Do your research and you can find ways to live.
