I couldn’t contain myself after going to a blog that discusses cancer treatments. They were essentially talking negatively about homeopathic treatments for cancer in this blog post. I found it interesting. I am not sure about the effectiveness of homeopathy treatments for any disease. Personally, I haven’t seen or found any evidence for the effectiveness of homeopathy. It seemed to me to be an easy target for derision. I noticed that they didn’t choose to discuss any more efficacious treatments, such as Laetrile/B-17, Hoxsey’s formula, Essiac, etc.

There have been ongoing arguments, debates and claims that the chemicals that are put in the water (for various reasons) are toxic or harmless, depending on what side of the ‘fence’ one happens to be on. I have had my own feelings about the situation, and from the evidence that I’ve seen, there are definitely hazardous, dangerous, toxic, unhealthy chemicals being put in the water that we get from the tap as well as from bottled water sources.
In most water treatment facilities in the United States, chlorine is used as a disinfectant. The disinfectant’s purpose is to reduce the amount of pathogenic (disease-causing) organisms that live in the water. Chlorine also acts as a general biocide, killing germs, algae, and other micro-organisms. This sounds like a promising drug, but it is basically a pharmaceutical drug that is attempting to replicate the action of many cheaper, more effective, less toxic natural substances.
This drug, called Ipilimumab, is a drug that is alleged to cause the body’s immune system to fight the cancer instead of using the traditional strategy of using chemotherapy or radiation to directly kill cancer cells. Colon cancer, and related rectal cancer, are thought to have similar risk factors, but colon cancer rates have been constant while rectal cancer rates have grown by about 4% per year. This was reported in the journal Cancer. What is most disconcerting is that scientists have absolutely no idea why this is the case. Rectal cancer rates in older population segments have been increasing as well, but this increase is probably due to more frequent cancer screenings which leads to more cases being diagnosed. continue reading…
