I had an interesting exchange with a person who, evidently, supports the establishment cancer industry position on cancer treatments, cancer cures, cancer research and related issues. I didn’t think that a comment I had made on the Huffington Post in response to another comment would have engendered such a response, but it did. I found it to be very illustrative of many of the things that I have discussed here on smashcancer.com.  But I also thought that by examining what was being said by this person, I could use it as a learning tool. I could see from our ‘dialogue’ that there was no point in trying to have a logical discussion of our points because this person basically had her mind made up.

I can understand how someone could, and would, believe the medical authorities. They’re the authorities! They are the ones that have all of the institutions, the schools, the degrees, the fellowships, the publications, the experts, and associated things. They are the ones that spend and/or expend the resources of time and money to study things like cancer, and they report their findings to us. They are people, and they and their family members suffer & die from cancer, just like everybody else does. I had done a previous article on GM crops, and decided to do another, more in-depth review of this subject. Originally, I was going to cover possible links between genetically modified foods and cancer. But in the process of reviewing a PowerPoint presentation based on the award-winning movie, Seeds of Deception by GMO activist Jeffrey Smith, I was totally floored by the extent of the danger of genetically modified food elements. It is a literal Pandora’s Box of danger. Preliminary studies have linked GMO foods with cancer, degenerative diseases, birth defects, sterility, and other health conditions.

A study published this week in the medical journal Carcinogenesis shows that grape seed extract kills head and neck squamous cell carcinoma cells, while leaving healthy cells unharmed.  The grape seed extract (also known as proanthocyanidins and/or flavinoids)has been demonstrated to damage cancer cell DNA (by way of increasing reactive oxygen), as well as inhibiting the cancer cell’s ability to repair the damage. The best part is that the grape seed extract is not harmful to normal cells.  This is probably due to the fact that cancer cells are known to have a lot of deficient metabolic pathways that can be vulnerable to attack. Normal cells do not have most of these vulnerabilities.

Another study that was published in the January 1, 2009 issue of Clinical Cancer Research by researchers from the University of Kentucky found that an extract from grape seeds caused in vitro leukemia cells to commit suicide. continue reading…

I came across a very good article that described the present condition of the United States.  We are taught in school that the United States has a capitalistic economic system.  But upon closer examination, the ideal does not match up with the reality.  It is not just in Big Pharma or orthodox cancer treatments, but in virtually every major institution in American society.

We see the big banks get billions of dollars in bailouts, while there is nothing for failing state, county and municipal governments.  There is always enough money for war and other endeavors that are profitable for the privileged few.  It actually appears that there is an organized war on the Middle Class in America.  Taxes are reduced for the rich while they skyrocket on average people. We have been focusing on news about Big Pharma and the Medical Establishment, but it’s time to get back to basics. The real goal is to cheaply, safely, effectively help people get rid of cancer.  On that note, while doing some searches online, I found some anecdotal accounts of people getting rid of their cancer and/or tumors with the use of garlic.  It looked promising.  We know that garlic is a very powerful herb. You can tell that just by its extremely pungent odor.

Garlic has a number of interesting properties.  It has been used as a food and medicine for thousands of years.  It has been found to have antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal activity.  It is also claimed that it is good for preventing heart disease. It is said to prevent certain types of cancer. Garlic cloves have been used as a treatment for infections, digestive disorders, and fungal infections.  Raw garlic is the most potent form. Although there is a lot of research done on genetic causes of cancer, as well as the identification of risk factors, these do not really identify a solid cause of cancer.  The risk factors for cancer given by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) name a lot of things that are correlated with increased rates of cancer.  But they also say that the majority of people with risk factors are not ever diagnosed with cancer.  So this makes the value of risk factors dubious, at best.

Otto Warburg, a prolific researcher and Nobel Laureate, found that low oxygen levels in cells cause them to become cancerous.  He also discovered that while normal cells function from aerobic (air loving) respiration, cancer cells generate energy from anaerobic respiration.  Some think that cancer is a survival mechanism that allows cells to live in a low oxygen environment. continue reading…

This man was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2004.  He was given only 1-1.5 years to live. He first chose to go with chemotherapy.  It made him so sick that he did not want to do it again.  He tells his story below.

In short, he became very sick from the chemotherapy and declined to undergo further treatments.  He had a lot of kidney stones subsequent to these conventional cancer treatments.  Upon the advice of family and close friends, he decided to go down to Tijuana, Mexico to a hospital called the International Bio Care Hospital and Medical Center for further cancer treatment. continue reading…

I found an article in which a leading breast cancer surgeon strongly admonished the Prince of Wales for him publicly supporting alternative cancer therapy for cancer patients.  Although this report isn’t as timely as I would have liked (around 2004), it is very instructive as to the mindset of many medical professionals, and how they view things.  I decided to analyze what the physician was saying so that you could better see how they think.

Michael Baum, emeritus professor of surgery at University College London basically told Prince Charles that he was full of it.  The Prince was supporting the Gerson therapy for cancer (and many other diseases).  I do realize that this therapy doesn’t work for everybody (no treatment or therapy has a 100% cure rate), but Dr. Gerson did have a success rate that was higher than that for conventional cancer treatments(which is said to really be closer to 3% than what they claim it is). continue reading…

This is a 9 minute video made by Gwen Olsen, a woman who spent 15 years as a pharmaceutical sales representative.  She is definitely an industry insider, and she was appalled at what she was witnessing.  She couldn’t take it anymore, and has been on a crusade to spread the word about what she has seen of the pharmaceutical industry.  You will not hear this type of information from the majority of health care professionals because they want to have jobs, and many have spent many years to have the ability to work in the medical field.  She gave up her job because her conscience wouldn’t allow her to do it anymore.
