Paw Paw-Alternative Cancer Treatment-Part 9

Dr. McLaughlin summarizes the clinical results of the cancer research performed with the use of Paw Paw substances.

The clinical studies were done on breast cancer, prostate cancer, lymphoma non-Hodgkin’s, stage 4 lung cancer and melanoma. The results were very good, very promising.  It appeared that most cancer patients were using Paw Paw in conjunction with conventional cancer treatments.

Paw Paw-Alternative Cancer Treatment-Part 8

Dr. McLaughlin discussed the scientific findings of his studies on Paw Paw compounds.  He also summarizes the effects and method of action of the acetogenins.

There are over 100 scientific papers on the chemistry and biological effects of Paw Paw. It was also found that the Zebra Swallowtail butterfly eats the leaves of the Paw Paw plant.  That butterfly is an obligate parasite of the plant. It constitutes a defense mechanism for the butterfly because birds that eat them become nauseous and vomit.

Paw Paw-Alternative Cancer Treatment-Part 7

Dr. McLaughlin discusses more of his cancer research that demonstrates that Paw Paw chemicals are very cytotoxic to tumor cells, but are not very toxic to normal cells.  He also compares Paw Paw acetogenins with the popular chemotherapy drugs Taxol® and cisplatin.

Dr. McLaughlin says that his research has shown that Paw Paw chemicals are extremely toxic to Multi Drug Resistant (MDR) tumor cells.

Paw Paw-Alternative Cancer Treatment-Part 6

This is a very fascinating video.  Dr. McLaughlin discusses the mechanism of action of the Paw Paw plant chemicals (acetogenins).

The Paw Paw plant chemicals work by inhibiting mitochondria, the energy-producing organelle in cells.  The acetogenins prevent cancer cells from producing energy aerobically (in the presence of oxygen), and also anaerobically (in the absence of oxygen).

Paw Paw-Alternative Cancer Treatment-Part 5

In this portion of the video series, Dr. McLaughlin discusses the various properties of the Paw Paw tree chemicals (annonaceous acetogenins) and how they are used in some of the products he works with.  The Paw Paw can be used to rid people and animals of intestinal parasites and other things, such as head lice.  It also has uses as a pesticide.  He also discusses the manufacture of the products and the use of the tree. He is a very thorough researcher.  It is fascinating to see how a true scientist conducts his investigations.

Paw Paw-Alternative Cancer Treatment-Part 4

Dr. McLaughlin continues telling his story about his life’s work on cancer research and the Paw Paw tree.  He also said that Graviola, or Brazilian paw paw are other names for Paw Paw.

He said that Graviola extracts can vary widely in potency. He also said that Graviola is not really standardized in most commercially available products.  Dr. McLaughlin also stated that Graviola is not as potent as the Paw Paw.

Paw Paw-Alternative Cancer Treatment-Part 3

Continuing with Paw Paw, a tree that was found to have potent anticancer activity, Dr. McLaughlin continues with his talk on cancer treatments and the general story of how he found the tree while performing his cancer research.

Dr McLaughlin was supported by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) for over 20 years, screened over 3,500 plants species for their value as cancer treatments, and reported that he found over 350 new cytotoxic compounds.
