Numerous alternative cancer therapies have long-standing roots in ancient medicine.

Acupuncture has been practiced for centuries, while yoga has been used for physical and mental restoration since the 2nd or 3rd century BCE. Homeopathic medicine was developed more than 200 years ago, but some homeopathic remedies utilize herbs whose healing powers were identified by ancient civilizations.

Even though medical procedures quickly go out of date, these and other alternative healing methods are still used in modern cancer treatment. However, researchers are continually studying how to make them most effective for today’s cancer patient. continue reading…

A study in the British Medical Journal (BMJ) just found that drug research, even clinical trials that are sponsored by the federal government, is regularly suppressed. Researchers found that less than 50% of all NIH-funded research studies were published within two and a half years of the completion of the study. Incredibly, 33% of these studies were still not published after 4 years. The reason appears to be that the pharmaceutical companies did not like the data.

One example given in the study was the case with Avandia, a drug that was actually approved by the FDA. It was found in 2007 that it caused an increase in heart attacks and cardiovascular disease related deaths. GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), the drug manufacturer, knew about the increased hazards associated with Avandia before the drug was even approved by FDA! continue reading…

Although this is an orthodox chemotherapy treatment, it is substantial news, and I decided to speak about it nevertheless because of the high scrutiny under which Avastin (bevacizumab) has been subjected.  This substance already has approval for a variety of cancers, such as colon, brain, kidney, and lung cancers.

Bevacizumab (Avastin) works by blocking angiogenesis (i.e., the growth of new blood vessels that enable tumors to grow).  It is a humanized monoclonal antibody that inhibits vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A). It was the first angiogenesis inhibitor available in the United States for clinical applications.  It received its first approval for cancer treatment in 2004 when used in combination with standard chemotherapy for metastatic colon cancer and non-small cell lung cancer. continue reading…

This video covers another anecdotal report from a man (Alan McNutt) who was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2000.  According to his reports, he started off going to conventional doctors who performed surgery to remove tumors from his thyroid.  But the tumors came back.  The surgeon who performed the lumpectomy basically told him to go see somebody else when he found out that the tumors returned. He abandoned his patient.  This is totally unacceptable.  It indicates to me that this physician is not dedicated to helping his patients. He isn’t ambitious enough to continue to seek to help his patient, not willing to search anywhere and everywhere for a solution to his patient’s health condition.  Very disturbing to consider that people who have (allegedly) dedicated their lives to helping patients are not dedicated enough to find a cure. continue reading…

There is a lot of controversy about the findings of a Dr Tullio Simoncini regarding the use of sodium bicarbonate for cancer therapy.  He says that based on his study and experience, cancer is a fungus, candida albicans to be exact.  He also claims that he has been having great success in the treatment of solid tumors with the use of sodium bicarbonate (baking soda).  But mainstream medical authorities like the American Cancer Society have been negative about these developments.

The American Cancer Society web site on sodium bicarbonate is precisely worded.  They never actually come out and say that baking soda does not work on cancer.  They make a bunch of leading statements about the topic.  They basically say that available scientific evidence does not support claims that cancer is caused by yeasts or molds, that sodium bicarbonate treats cancer, and that these claims are not supported by clinical or scientific evidence. continue reading…

This isn’t a brand new story, but it is typical of what happens to alternative cancer treatment practitioners.  As you will see, it doesn’t matter whether or not they are licensed physicians or dentists, or whether or not the treatment actually works.  The critical factor is whether or not the treatment is profitable to Big Pharma and the related interests.  The bottom line is that if the treatment would undermine big corporate profits, it is certain to be scrapped and flushed down the ‘memory hole’.

This is about a treatment method that was actually designed by a Dr. William Kelley, a dentist who operated out of Texas.  He used a nutritional approach to fight cancer, and cured himself of what the medical establishment calls terminal Stage 4 pancreatic cancer.  His treatment method uses three main strategies to restore the body to health.  They are nutritional support, detoxification and supplementation with pancreatic enzymes.  These are probably things that would help out someone who was normal, and would not harm anyone in the way that conventional cancer treatments hurt patients. continue reading…

A device that uses electricity to kill brain tumors, called the NovoTTF, has just been approved by the Food and Drug Administration.  The device is approved for brain cancer patients suffering from malignant tumors called glioblastoma multiforme. This treatment may be an alternative to chemotherapy for patients with advanced brain cancer. continue reading…

An Essex Superior Court jury found a mother who withheld cancer treatments from her autistic son guilty of attempted murder and assault and battery.  Kristen LaBrie was sentenced to 8-10 years in state prison for this incident.

I think that she was negligent because if she decided that she was not going to use conventional cancer treatments, she should have used something else.  Unfortunately, most people don’t know about alternative cancer treatments.  And if they don’t know about them, they definitely don’t know which ones are the most effective. continue reading…

The British Medical Journal, one of the most prestigious and recognized medical journals in the world, released a 20-year longitudinal study to assess the value of prostate cancer screening.  To make a long story short, the result of the study was the finding that the rate of death from prostate cancer was virtually identical for men whether or not they were screened for cancer.  The bottom line is that all of the hoopla over PSA testing, digital rectal exams, and the like, are all a bunch of hooey.  These tests are ineffective, and is likely being used to railroad a bunch of scared men into having dangerous, unnecessary prostate cancer treatments.

We already wrote about the questionable efficacy of conventional prostate cancer treatments.  We also wrote about how ‘watchful waiting’ was said to usually be a much better strategy for most men who are having prostate problems.  This is not to belittle the danger of rapidly metastasizing prostate cancers. But in most cases of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), the conventional treatments being bandied about have little benefit, but have a lot of very catastrophic side effects.

For whatever reason, most doctors are myopic when it comes to cancer treatment.  The patient should be as knowledgeable as possible about his health situation, and about the disease in question.  A physician can only give as much information as the patient is able to understand.  So if you do not know much about prostate cancer, the doctor will only be able to go as far as the limit on how much the patient can comprehend.  The more knowledge the patient has, the more that him and the doctor can discuss and craft a logical treatment strategy.

We must understand that many doctors resent the iron grip control over medical treatment that is exerted by the American Medical Association (AMA) and other regulatory agencies like the EPA, NIH, etc.  And we must not forget the powerful pharmaceutical drug companies interest in maintaining their dominance over medical treatment and medical education. Big Pharma companies finance a large portion of most accredited medical schools in the United States.  In this way, they determine the medical school curriculum for budding physicians.

This determines how they think and approach medical treatment.  The immense power of this position can not be overemphasized.  It amounts to turning physicians into Big Pharma drug peddlers.  It is Big Pharma’s way to insure that physicians seek to prescribe their drugs to the majority of patients they encounter.  Even if a doctor wakes up and begins to understand that drugs do not cure diseases or solve nutritional imbalances, the medical authorities who control licensing of physicians can take away any medical heretic’s license to practice if they become too vocal, or use non-standard treatments, regardless of their effectiveness.  In fact, many safe, effective treatments for cancer have been suppressed by the medical pharmaceutical cartel.  It is a matter of record.

Patients should be acutely aware of their health condition.  They should find a physician who is open-minded enough to venture outside of the boundaries of medical orthodoxy if a better, safer treatment for cancer is available.  Chemotherapy, radiation and surgery are not the best, most effective treatments for cancer, regardless of how loudly and proudly the medical authorities proclaim it.  Shouting louder than everybody else, and having a favored status with the mass media does not turn untruths into truths.  Open your mind and study this topic, and see where it takes you.

I just read a very good article that speaks about ‘useful idiots’, and I think that is is very relevant to what is happening in the medical field.  It is also a microcosm of what has been happening in all of society, and in all major institutions in society.  I don’t have the time here to delve into all of that, but suffice it to say that virtually all of the things that we take for granted as ‘facts’, are either blatantly false, or that the assumptions and foundations that support them are faulty or specious.  Education, politics, medicine, sociology, economics, history, religion, etc., are all based on some very flawed logic.  I’m not trying to offend anyone, but this has been my experience after many years of studying all of these (and many other) topics.

After learning about the dubious veracity of truths I had been spoon-fed since my youth, I thought that science was not susceptible to such manipulation because it was ‘empirical’.  I was truly naive back then.  But when I got into medical school, my spirit was unsettled, and I could not bring myself to embrace it.  I was wondering where all the cures and effective treatments were, and when we were going to learn about them.  I guess that I figured out that if they weren’t teaching this information to us in medical school, they were never going to share this information with us.  If they aren’t teaching cures in medical school, but instead, were teaching more advanced factoids about physiology, histology, embryology, etc., what’s the point? continue reading…
