I came across a report that claims that the anticancer drug, Avastin, can help ovarian cancer patients.  The drug, which is commonly used to treat colon, breast and brain cancers, now may have an application in ovarian cancer.

Researchers added Avastin to a standard chemotherapy and maintenance regimen to a group of women with cancer of the ovaries or closely related areas. They found that the women who were given Avastin lived an average of four months longer without the disease progressing than those who did not receive it.

Avastin is not without a level of controversy in its history.  Some experts objected to FDA approval of it for metastatic breast cancer because the drug only slows tumor growth, but fails to extend survival.  The FDA approved it for use anyway, even though a panel of outside advisers voted 5 to 4 against approval.  Although Avastin reduces tumor size and shows an increase in progression-free survival time, it does not prolong or increase the quality of life for late-stage cancer patients. continue reading…

I just found out that Suzanne Somers just did an interview with Mike Adams of Natural News about her book entitled Knockout: Interviews With Doctors Who Are Curing Cancer.  I haven’t read the book yet, but it sounds very interesting.  She’s talking about things that I speak of in my works as well.

The truth is out there, but you’re NOT going to find it from the evening news, the newspapers & magazines, or from most health care professionals.  The Medical Establishment is simply making too much money to tell you the truth about cancer.  Most physicians and health care professionals have been brainwashed and biased against natural medicine.  They have not been exposed to the truth about cancer.  Most of them actually believe that there are no safe, non-toxic, highly effective treatments for cancer, and that chemotherapy, radiation and surgery are the only viable treatment methods known to man.  This is simply not true. continue reading…

I don’t mean to sound crass, but after all of the hype about conventional cancer treatment therapies, why are people still dying of cancer?  Granted, the “5 year survival rate” for pancreatic cancer is probably the lowest of all cancers, but why is that?  I just don’t see any progress being made there.  But the most perplexing thing is that they continue to use the same old, tired treatment methods: surgery, radiation and chemotherapy.

What is the problem?  From what I can see, trying anything else would probably be an improvement.  He was only 57 years old.  That is not very old.  I thought that medicine was all about curing the patient.  But then again, that obviously isn’t the case.  These treatment methods have been virtually the same for over 50 YEARS!  Does it really make any sense to stay with the same strategies that haven’t worked for all this time? continue reading…

There is a lot of information and articles in medical industry journals that report that conventional cancer treatments are the most effective treatments available.  The media seems to regularly run stories about the newest breakthroughs in cancer treatment.  There always seems to be a story about some sort of major breakthrough in cancer treatment.  It a wonder that anybody even comes down with cancer if you are to believe the news stories and the prescription drug commercials!

I know that a number of people I know or were related to have had cancer, and many have succumbed to it.  When I checked the statistics on the cancer rates, I found a number of interesting things.  One of the most interesting tidbits of information that I learned was that the incidence of cancer has went up dramatically since 1900.  Back then, only about one out of every 11 people would be diagnosed with cancer.  Today, it is widely believed that one out of every two men, and one out of every three women is now projected to eventually be diagnosed with cancer within their lifetime. I thought that this was a very shocking piece of information. continue reading…
