A study published this week in the medical journal Carcinogenesis shows that grape seed extract kills head and neck squamous cell carcinoma cells, while leaving healthy cells unharmed.  The grape seed extract (also known as proanthocyanidins and/or flavinoids)has been demonstrated to damage cancer cell DNA (by way of increasing reactive oxygen), as well as inhibiting the cancer cell’s ability to repair the damage. The best part is that the grape seed extract is not harmful to normal cells.  This is probably due to the fact that cancer cells are known to have a lot of deficient metabolic pathways that can be vulnerable to attack. Normal cells do not have most of these vulnerabilities.

Another study that was published in the January 1, 2009 issue of Clinical Cancer Research by researchers from the University of Kentucky found that an extract from grape seeds caused in vitro leukemia cells to commit suicide. continue reading…

I came across a very good article that described the present condition of the United States.  We are taught in school that the United States has a capitalistic economic system.  But upon closer examination, the ideal does not match up with the reality.  It is not just in Big Pharma or orthodox cancer treatments, but in virtually every major institution in American society.

We see the big banks get billions of dollars in bailouts, while there is nothing for failing state, county and municipal governments.  There is always enough money for war and other endeavors that are profitable for the privileged few.  It actually appears that there is an organized war on the Middle Class in America.  Taxes are reduced for the rich while they skyrocket on average people. The alleged debt ceiling debacle appears to be an orchestrated hoax for ulterior motives.  The crap just goes on and on… continue reading…

This is a 9 minute video made by Gwen Olsen, a woman who spent 15 years as a pharmaceutical sales representative.  She is definitely an industry insider, and she was appalled at what she was witnessing.  She couldn’t take it anymore, and has been on a crusade to spread the word about what she has seen of the pharmaceutical industry.  You will not hear this type of information from the majority of health care professionals because they want to have jobs, and many have spent many years to have the ability to work in the medical field.  She gave up her job because her conscience wouldn’t allow her to do it anymore.

The fact is that Big Pharma is not in the business of healing or healthcontinue reading…

A new study performed by a sociologist named Donald Light has found strong evidence that the pharmaceutical industry is a “market for lemons” where the sellers are much more informed than the end customers.  They profit from selling products (drugs) that are less effective and more harmful than patients are led to believe.  This startling study is going to be presented at the 105th Annual Meeting of the American Sociological Association. The study is titled Pharmaceuticals: A Two-Tier Market for Producing ‘Lemons’ and Serious Harm.

The fact is that pharmaceutical companies often conceal and/or downplay the serious side effects of their drugs and exaggerate their benefits. continue reading…

There are a lot of positives related to alternative cancer treatments.  We know that they tend to be less toxic, can be more effective than conventional cancer treatments, work with the body’s systems, preserve and/or strengthen the immune system, as well as many other benefits.  As positive as the people who support alternative cancer treatment methods, there are still some problems and pitfalls that cancer patients should be aware of in regards to this very important topic.  It is very critical that we maintain an attitude of objectivity, and that we do not fall into the trap of thinking of non-mainstream treatments as being a panacea for cancer treatment.

Some of the problems are: continue reading…
