In the course of doing some reading on health, I came across a web site article entitled There’s no such thing as viruses? Now I found the question of whether viruses exist or not to be curious because I’ve studied viruses, have observed them, and actually constructed virus elements into bacteriophage to manipulate plasmid DNA for use in recombinant DNA. So I think it might be a curious question to ask, and may even be considered ridiculous.

What I really found to be curious was how the author continued in his tirade against ‘virus deniers’, and went on to label web sites like Age of Autism and NaturalNews.com as promoters of ‘dangerous quackery’ and that they ‘endanger public health’. The author basically stated that these web sites promote any ‘wacky hypothesis’ that they can find. Instead of providing any basis for his making these determinations, he just resorts to a string of ad hominem attacks on them because they do not agree with the mainstream scientific opinion(s) on these topics. Most of the topics these web sites discuss are not as settled as the writer described above would like us to think. continue reading…

I recently had a discussion with an insurance agent, and as we talked, she revealed to me that she had lost her husband to cancer.  We immediately struck up an in-depth conversation about cancer and all of the alternative cancer treatments that they had tried, but to no avail.  She was very intelligent and appeared to be very knowledgeable about alternative cancer treatments. She was familiar with most of the treatments that I mentioned.

Luckily, it had been a while since she had lost her husband, so she wasn’t overwhelmed with emotions as we talked. But as we talked, I noticed that she thought that shrinking the tumor was the exact same thing as getting rid of the cancer. I told her that the tumor was NOT the same thing as the cancer. In fact, the tumor is merely a symptom of the cancer. continue reading…

Aspartame is one of the most widely used artificial sweeteners in the world. It is added to approximately 6,000 consumer foods, beverages, chewable vitamin supplements, laxatives, milk drinks, pharmaceutical drugs and supplements, shake mixes, teas, instant coffees, wine coolers, condiments, etc.  It is also sold under the trade names Equal, NutraSweet, and Canderel.  It was originally produced by G.D. Searle, but this company was purchased by Monsanto in 1984.

The dangers of aspartame use has been a very contentious issue. The FDA, and other large corporations and regulators have claimed that aspartame is a harmless chemical. But others have argued that aspartame is very dangerous.  After a careful examination of the evidence, it would appear that aspartame is harmful.  This is in addition to the controversy surrounding the scientific studies that were used to justify the approval of aspartame for human consumption.

This isn’t a brand new story, but it is typical of what happens to alternative cancer treatment practitioners.  As you will see, it doesn’t matter whether or not they are licensed physicians or dentists, or whether or not the treatment actually works.  The critical factor is whether or not the treatment is profitable to Big Pharma and the related interests.  The bottom line is that if the treatment would undermine big corporate profits, it is certain to be scrapped and flushed down the ‘memory hole’.

This is about a treatment method that was actually designed by a Dr. William Kelley, a dentist who operated out of Texas.  He used a nutritional approach to fight cancer, and cured himself of what the medical establishment calls terminal Stage 4 pancreatic cancer.  His treatment method uses three main strategies to restore the body to health.  They are nutritional support, detoxification and supplementation with pancreatic enzymes.  These are probably things that would help out someone who was normal, and would not harm anyone in the way that conventional cancer treatments hurt patients. continue reading…

A device that uses electricity to kill brain tumors, called the NovoTTF, has just been approved by the Food and Drug Administration.  The device is approved for brain cancer patients suffering from malignant tumors called glioblastoma multiforme. This treatment may be an alternative to chemotherapy for patients with advanced brain cancer. continue reading…

Just when you thought they were sleeping, now the FDA is reported to be prohibiting small pharmacies from manufacturing or distributing injectable vitamin C.  This is regardless of the fact that vitamin C is a powerful healing substance that is great for a lot of health conditions.

It is well known in natural health circles that IV vitamin C could almost be termed a ‘miracle cure’ for a wide variety of conditions, especially infections and similar diseases.  I have covered some of these conditions in previous writings.  But for those who don’t know, it is common knowledge that conventional drugs don’t cure viral diseases such as mononucleosis, hepatitis, influenza, shingles, herpes, etc.  In addition to this, there are more and more bacteria that are becoming resistant to antibiotics. continue reading…

A widely prescribed drug for diabetes, called pioglitazone (marketed as Actos in the United States), is now being investigated by the FDA because it may increase the risk of bladder cancer.  It is already known to increase the risk of liver damage in patients who take it.  It is also known to cause heart failure in some patients.  In spite of all of these possible side effects, the drug is still one of the most prescribed drugs for diabetes because it is only about half as likely to cause heart attacks as its most significant competitor, Avandia.

Amazingly, the FDA has recently prohibited the prescription of Avandia, unless it is being used as a last resort drug where all other diabetes drugs have failed. continue reading…

I just read a very good article that speaks about ‘useful idiots’, and I think that is is very relevant to what is happening in the medical field.  It is also a microcosm of what has been happening in all of society, and in all major institutions in society.  I don’t have the time here to delve into all of that, but suffice it to say that virtually all of the things that we take for granted as ‘facts’, are either blatantly false, or that the assumptions and foundations that support them are faulty or specious.  Education, politics, medicine, sociology, economics, history, religion, etc., are all based on some very flawed logic.  I’m not trying to offend anyone, but this has been my experience after many years of studying all of these (and many other) topics.

After learning about the dubious veracity of truths I had been spoon-fed since my youth, I thought that science was not susceptible to such manipulation because it was ‘empirical’.  I was truly naive back then.  But when I got into medical school, my spirit was unsettled, and I could not bring myself to embrace it.  I was wondering where all the cures and effective treatments were, and when we were going to learn about them.  I guess that I figured out that if they weren’t teaching this information to us in medical school, they were never going to share this information with us.  If they aren’t teaching cures in medical school, but instead, were teaching more advanced factoids about physiology, histology, embryology, etc., what’s the point? continue reading…

I had to ask myself this question after reading a blog entry entitled The Cancer Cure THEY Don’t Want You to Know About, by a writer called Healthseeker. He spoke about apricot kernels and a substance called Xanthohumol as effective, non-toxic treatments for cancer.  He actually described cancer as the result of a deficiency of vitamin B-17 (also known as amygdalin, closely related to Laetrile).  Xanthohumol is an antioxidant that is derived from hops.  I don’t know much about it.

Although the article was not the best, I thought that the author gave someone enough information to stimulate readers to do some research to verify what he said.  I must admit that there were no references, no links, no substantiation of anything the author said in the article.  But that was not what really surprised me. continue reading…

Dr. Sircus speaks on the relatively unknown benefits of transdermal magnesium supplementation. It is virtually unknown to most people. This is the second part of his interview that was conducted by Adam Abraham. This segment is approximately 15 minutes.

Dr Sircus reveals that even small amounts of magnesium applied transdermally can be effective.  It is relatively easy to get the RDA requirement of magnesium from transdermal magnesium supplementation.  He goes on to give a testimonial (anecdotal) of a pediatrician who was suffering from diabetes.  He also had neuropathy that caused nerve damage in his feet.  This pediatrician then started supplementing with mega doses of magnesium, around 20 grams per day.  This amounts to approximately 40-50 times the RDA amount.  It is reported that he regenerated the nerves in his feet. It wasn’t clear whether or not he cured himself of the diabetes. continue reading…
