This is a 9 minute video made by Gwen Olsen, a woman who spent 15 years as a pharmaceutical sales representative.  She is definitely an industry insider, and she was appalled at what she was witnessing.  She couldn’t take it anymore, and has been on a crusade to spread the word about what she has seen of the pharmaceutical industry.  You will not hear this type of information from the majority of health care professionals because they want to have jobs, and many have spent many years to have the ability to work in the medical field.  She gave up her job because her conscience wouldn’t allow her to do it anymore.

This sounds like a promising drug, but it is basically a pharmaceutical drug that is attempting to replicate the action of many cheaper, more effective, less toxic natural substances.

This drug, called Ipilimumab, is a drug that is alleged to cause the body’s immune system to fight the cancer instead of using the traditional strategy of using chemotherapy or radiation to directly kill cancer cells.  Unfortunately, this strategy also kills and damages normal body cells, and leads to severely debilitating side effects. continue reading…

Mammography is touted as the best way for women to protect themselves from breast cancer.  Is this really the case?  It appears that, once again, we are being subjected to propaganda, media spin and an agenda of protecting corporate profits at the expense of cancer patients and unsuspecting victims of Big Pharma and related entities.  This video is about 10 minutes.

The American Cancer Society (ACS) vigorously promotes mammography as a woman’s best way to fight breast cancer while scaring up women with fears of contracting the disease.   It is reported that mammograms are not very accurate.  In fact, they have approximately a 70% failure rate!  The Nordic Cochrane Center reports that about 7,000 women per year are improperly diagnosed with breast cancer, which leads to unnecessary treatments. continue reading…

A new study performed by a sociologist named Donald Light has found strong evidence that the pharmaceutical industry is a “market for lemons” where the sellers are much more informed than the end customers.  They profit from selling products (drugs) that are less effective and more harmful than patients are led to believe.  This startling study is going to be presented at the 105th Annual Meeting of the American Sociological Association.The study is titled Pharmaceuticals: A Two-Tier Market for Producing ‘Lemons’ and Serious Harm.

The fact is that pharmaceutical companies often conceal and/or downplay the serious side effects of their drugs and exaggerate their benefits. continue reading…

We are always bombarded with all sorts of claims of improved treatments for cancer, along with reports of increased survival rates from cancer.  The standard statistic used to describe the effectiveness of cancer treatment is the 5 year survival rate.  This report will be an analysis of this statistic and other related issues.  In short, the cancer survival statistics appear to be ‘massaged’ in order to make conventional cancer treatments appear to be more effective than they really are.  If the true cure rates were widely known, most people would shun them and demand better strategies.

Dr. McLaughlin summarizes the clinical results of the cancer research performed with the use of Paw Paw substances.

The clinical studies were done on breast cancer, prostate cancer, lymphoma non-Hodgkin’s, stage 4 lung cancer and melanoma. The results were very good, very promising.  It appeared that most cancer patients were using Paw Paw in conjunction with conventional cancer treatments. continue reading…

Dr. McLaughlin discussed the scientific findings of his studies on Paw Paw compounds.  He also summarizes the effects and method of action of the acetogenins.

There are over 100 scientific papers on the chemistry and biological effects of Paw Paw. It was also found that the Zebra Swallowtail butterfly eats the leaves of the Paw Paw plant.  That butterfly is an obligate parasite of the plant. Dr. McLaughlin discusses more of his cancer research that demonstrates that Paw Paw chemicals are very cytotoxic to tumor cells, but are not very toxic to normal cells.  He also compares Paw Paw acetogenins with the popular chemotherapy drugs Taxol® and cisplatin.

I came across a report that claims that the anticancer drug, Avastin, can help ovarian cancer patients.  The drug, which is commonly used to treat colon, breast and brain cancers, now may have an application in ovarian cancer.

Researchers added Avastin to a standard chemotherapy and maintenance regimen to a group of women with cancer of the ovaries or closely related areas. They found that the women who were given Avastin lived an average of four months longer without the disease progressing than those who did not receive it.

Avastin is not without a level of controversy in its history.  Some experts objected to FDA approval of it for metastatic breast cancer because the drug only slows tumor growth, but fails to extend survival.  The FDA approved it for use anyway, even though a panel of outside advisers voted 5 to 4 against approval.  Although Avastin reduces tumor size and shows an increase in progression-free survival time, it does not prolong or increase the quality of life for late-stage cancer patients. continue reading…
